Corfu is a favourite holiday destination. This beautiful island in the Ionian Sea has verdant vegetation, amazing beaches, impressive Venetian architecture, picturesque villages, lively nightlife and a cosmopolitan way of life.

Situated on the west coast of Corfu, Ermones Bay is surrounded by sheer rocks and is supposedly where the shipwrecked Odysseus was washed ashore towards the end of his epic journey.

The beach is mainly sand but there is some shingle. There are some tavernas at the beach itself and a variety of water sports on offer, including scuba diving.

It is essentially a quiet place, for relaxation and enjoying the pleasures of the countryside and coast. Nearby beaches include Glyfada, Mirtiotissa and Pelekas.

Ermones is about 15 kilometres from the airport. There is a regular bus service to Corfu Town.
